Macy’s, The Gordon Parks Foundation and The American Black Film Festival celebrate the 100th birthday of American Icon, Gordon Parks.

Come out to Macy’s at Lenox Square on February 16th to celebrate the life of Gordon Parks by viewing iconic images in a photographic art installation featuring some of his most beloved works, such as American Gothic, Washington D.C. 1942. This promises to be a stellar event so get there early!

In honor of Gordon Parks contribution to the arts, there will be a children’s “design your own book” event! Plus receive a special gift* with purchase of $25 or more during the event!
Level 2, 3pm
Actor/director Eriq La Salle will appear for a spirited discussion on Gordon Park’s influence on film and the future of African American cinema. Following the discussion, enjoy light refreshments. Immediately following the “Film series event”, it’s time to “boogie on down” as we pay homage to the soul/funk 70s era music featured in the movie Shaft, directed by Gordon Parks. Stop by the Soul Jam style dance party and don’t forget to pack your platforms!
