A fabulous night of fashion and fun

Shop Atlanta

During Atlanta’s Fashion Night Out week, I was scheduled to attend quite a few events featuring some of the ATL’s hautest boutiques and fashion shows. So, in order to keep my Fashionista membership in good standing :-D, I had to put in a little extra overtime as there were so many events on tap that I’m literally still in recovery mode. So, to accommodate my impending lack of sleep during Atlanta’s most fabulous week, I had to resort to lethal doses of Starbucks’ espresso roast. I’m fairly certain that my coffee indulgence no doubt raised Starbucks stock a few points…at least for the week. 😛 And since this was my first Atlanta Fashion Night Out, I was determined to make it a memorable one.

Ok, so where does a girl begin? Hmmm…

Well, after my midday caffeine drip 😀 , I headed down to Atlantic Station where Fashion’s Night Out and Modern Luxury presented their annual Shop Atlanta preview event.

Shop Atlanta was held inside the American Eagle space and featured custom jewelry, along with fabulous clothing and accessories by some of Atlanta’s chic’est boutiques such as Material Girl Boutique, Swell Caroline, Emly Benham, Lola Rose, The Clique, Galerie Boutique, Bou Cou, Lisa G Designs, Sheree A’Dore, Lola’s Boutique, ShopChosenGirl.com, Yadiyda, Sweet Samba and more.

The One Hundred Days organization was also there to showcase their Market Rwanda collection during this annual soiree.

I had the pleasure of attending an event for Market Rwanda at the Emerging Art Scene Gallery in Castleberry Hill in August, and I must say that it was truly one of the most memorable experiences of my life.  During that event I met an extraordinary woman named Linda Cox, with the One Hundred Days organization. Linda has such an amazing and generous spirit; and, she literally gave me the jewelry from her neck. 😀 You can read more about the event at the Emerging Art Scene Gallery here.

So, upon entering the Shop Atlanta VIP only event, I was immediately thrust into boutique heaven as the participating vendors showcased a smorgasbord of pieces deserving of nothing less than a harp serenade. 😀

Guests of the event were treated to cupcakes, lite bites, cocktails, and fab swag bags filled with makeup kits, the latest  issue of Jezebel Magazine, discount coupons from participating boutiques, and an assortment of other goodies.

There were quite a few surprise finds at the event like Bou Cou and Yadiyda. You’ve got to see the Yadiyda collection….smokin haute!

Of course there were some familiar faces there like the chic-tastic Nikki Cook and LaTanya Vaughn with Material Girl Boutique whom I met during an event hosted at their boutique a few months back.

Kirsten Haglund (Miss America 2008),  Anna Sasser (Million Kid Movement), and Kelli Sasser (Founder of One Hundred Days), whom I met last month at the Emerging Art Scene Gallery, were also in attendance to support the Market Rwanda shop.

Market Rwanda showcases a distinctive collection of beautiful handmade jewelry (or “accessory art” as I call it), home decor, and garments made by women from the impoverished country of Rwanda. Linda Cox, Humanitarian and Author, was also there to support the Market Rwanda effort which aims to build the Good Shepherd Community Hospital for Children in Kigali, Rwanda through the sale of her book “They Had to Run”.

They Had to Run” is such a great story that will encourage, empower, and motivate you. During the event I had the pleasure of meeting Gad Nziramakenga whose parents, Simon and Kedress Nziramakenga, are the inspiration behind the book.

Please support this great endeavor by visiting One Hundred Days.

Special thanks to the always glamorous Tamika Morrison of T.Morrison Agency for the invite; and great job on the Market Rwanda display area as it was uber-fab!

I look forward to seeing you ladies at the next Market Rwanda event!

House of Adrene

House of Adrene

So after Shop Atlanta, I headed down to House of Adrene in the Castleberry Hills district to cap off my night of fashion, in style. DL Winfrey of Pretty Girls Rock Dresses hosted the event which showcased Adrene’s collection of “urban chic” wear for both women AND men.  Yep! Now the guys have a trendy and fashion forward option to add to their arsenal. Let me tell you, celebrity stylist, Adrene Ashford, is setting the mark with her ultra luxe, hip, and trendy styles that have graced many red carpets and event premieres making House of Adrene the go-to among industry trendsetters.

Adrene has worked with some of the biggest stars in the industry; divas like Vivica Fox, Taraji Henson, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Rowland and Ciara, along with male clients like Hill Harper, Terrell Owens and the King of the South himself T.I. With a roster like that, you know you’ll be the best dressed at the party! 😀

Also at the event were some of Atlanta’s most fashionable bloggers, ChareeLenee, Bustin Out the Seams, Lipstick Manual, Baby Shopaholic. We had a great time catching up, checking out the selections, and plotting our next rendezvous.  So, watch out ATL… The Fashionista’s are on a mission to make you over, one boutique at a time (insert sinister laugh)!

Also featured at House of Adrene is the most deliciously invigorating assortment of handmade bath and beauty products by the Carson Bryce Trading Company. OMG! After smelling their Lemongrass soap…Let’s just say I was seriously contemplating having my nose embalmed afterward. 😀 Just imagine a scent so refreshing that after one whiff your senses would be awakened as if they’d been in a coma for the past 20 something years.

Carson Bryce products are free of artificial fragrances, colorants, and dyes, and are rich in natural plant based ingredients such as olive oil, coconut oil and Shea butter. Combined with real fruit juices, you’re left with naturally moisturized and beautiful skin.

Ok, so now that I have “one day” of Fashion Week under my belt I’m heading home. If you don’t hear from me for a day or so, don’t worry. I’ll likely be hold-up in my Jacuzzi with my Lemongrass sample from Carson Bryce. ;-P
