Showing Off in the 2017 Mazda CX-5

2017 Mazda CX-5

Fellow Atlantans, can we talk about Snowmageddon ’17 real quick?! You remember…. The snow storm that blew through our city in late 2017 and dumped 12 inches of snow on us!!! And while I had a great time turning snowballs into glowballs , I was a little concerned that the snow might keep me from attending several events I had on the docket.

I mean… We were literally buried under snow for 3 solid days! It was awful, but luckily, timing was on my side. Just before Snowmageddon came rolling in, I was granted the glorious opportunity to test-drive the new-and-improved 2017 Mazda CX-5. And let me tell you, this gorgeous SUV is a total show-off!

Thanks to this sleek vehicle’s Dynamic Stability Control and Traction Control System, the snow was no match. Usually I am a little nervous driving around in such rough road conditions, but the CX-5 made me completely trust in its abilities to get me around town safe and sound. And, with an MPG of 24 city/31 highway, this baby had me cruising with no worries in sight. Not to mention the heated steering and front seats were a warm and fuzzy addition for these extra cold days!

SHOW OFF

But its functionality is only a small part of this Compact Crossover’s allure. Of course, since I was test driving this baby around the holidays, I had plenty of excuses to head to the mall (as if I needed any more!). Riding up to one of my favorite shops in this stylish car was just the cherry on top to my quick retail run. The interior has super-soft leather-trimmed seats that were extremely comfortable, and I loved having access to voice command and audio texting right at my fingertips with the 7″ full-color touch screen MAZDA CONNECT™ Infotainment System. And, yes, the 2017 Mazda CX-5 has a push-to-start button, a rearview camera, Bose® 10-speaker audio system, and a moonroof—so if you’re looking for a cool-factor, this baby has all the trimmings.

Another fabulous feature was the generous cargo space in the back. Especially when storing my holiday haul, the ~59 cubic feet of trunk space is extremely valuable. I also loved that the back seat folds down for even more space, and I could open the trunk simply by pushing a button! Gotta love modern technology.

LOOKS ARE EVERYTHING

One of the things I loved most about the CX-5 was its style. It’s a very beautiful ride—from the bold and stylish grill to the jeweled headlights, it’s totally glammed up and ready for fun. So, of course, I wanted to take it out for a few of my most stylish excursions! First, I drove the CX-5 on a date to see Katy Perry perform for Witness: The Tour! I am a true #KatyCat, so seeing her up close was the “cat’s meow”! (Translation: Super Rad! No wait… wrong decade) And riding to the concert in style just made it that much more fabulous of an experience.

I also embarked on some holiday fun in the CX-5, kicking off the season at the highly popular Miracle on Monroe, which is a bar that turns into a Christmas wonderland! I’m talking themed drinks, holiday decor galore, and nonstop Christmas music—it’s so over-the-top, but in the best way possible. We had a total blast! Must sips to sample: Christmapolitan, Muletide, and Yippy Ki Yay M****r! 😛

Finally I made the most with my hot new ride by doing Date Night with the hubby and a few friends at Stoney River in Roswell. And let me tell you, the menu did not disappoint! Everything we ate was absolutely incredible, and this final stop was the cherry on top of my fabulous journey with the Mazda CX-5.

IMPROVE YOUR LIFE

Overall, my experience with the Mazda CX-5 was a total success. From the stylish exterior to the beautiful and genius interior, this SUV hits all the right boxes. And with a starting sticker price at $24,045 MSRP and more than 250 improvements over the previous model, the added benefits will make your life (and your wallet) feel that much more fulfilled.

Well, hopefully Snowmageddon was the last big storm for a long, long time. But, should said snow storm decide on an encore, it’s good to know there is a vehicle out there that’s totally up to the challenge.

This is a gorgeous vehicle. It’s so clean and sleek! I need a new car in a few years. And opening the trunk with a button? Nice. That would come in handy.

This looks like a really good car. Especially with all the snow that has been slamming everyone on the East Coast. I would rather have a car like this so I can drive and not worry about sliding. Hopefully it is the last big one for a long time.

Beautiful looking car and the inside looks luxury and top of the line. What kind of pretty price tag comes along with it? It is a beautiful car.

This car looks totally sharp…inside and out! I would not have thought about a Mazda, but I am totally diggin’ the way this car is styled. And I see you have the 80’s station listed….love the 80’s! This car seems to have it all.

I’m in Chattanooga, but I remember the Snowmaggedon in Atlanta. It was so crazy! I love your blue velvet dress.

It does look sharp for a family style sedan. Safety features and road handling are always a priority for the family car that my kids primarily ride in. The CX-5 looks like a nice option for a family vehicle.

I went from vans and SUVs a couple years ago to a smaller car, which comes in handy for travel and gas mileage, but I do miss a larger car.

Mazda is indeed a great choice for a car. Still considering this when its time for me to purchase my own car. Just as one of the perfect one for me.
