In case you haven’t noticed, it’s cool to take care of yourself. Self-care is something everyone should practice, and it can come in so many different forms. Some people might think self-care only refers to bubble baths and spa days, but the truth is, self-care spans a lot of different areas of your life. At its core, the idea is to treat yourself. Reward yourself small luxuries that bring you immense joy—whether that’s riding in a gorgeous new car or sleeping in a little longer on Saturdays, I want to inspire you to indulge in a little self-care.
With that being said, I recently treated myself to a few days of self-care. Behind the wheel of the stylish, safe, and comfortable 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander, I cruised all around town to curate my ideal #SelfCareStyle.
If you’re hoping to treat yourself to a day of decadence sometime soon, check out what I did below for some inspiration. You can grab your best gals or do self-care solo—either way, there’s no better way to end a day feeling refreshed and ready for whatever’s next!
5 Ways to Treat Yourself
1. Upgrade your ride.
Driving isn’t always enjoyable, but it is when you love the vehicle you’re in. Such was the case on my self-care adventure, on which I was graciously given the chance to test drive the brand-new (and oh-so-beautiful) 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander.
Leather seats, extra room for shopping bags (gotta love those folding second and third rows!), Bluetooth streaming, and adaptive cruise control made my experience better than top-notch. All these details made my experience so much more than your average car ride—it was a self-care moment I never realized I needed.
2. Wine down.
There’s a good chance you can get your “partners in wine” to embark on a wine tour with you. Going on a wine tour with friends is always the perfect Riesling to unwind, plus it’s a grape chance to celebrate sipsterhood! 😉 Take the opportunity to lounge at a tasting room, or just stroll sloping vineyards. Because sometimes you just gotta stop and smell the rosé.
3. Face off.
I told y’all I would be heading back to CAS Med Spa in the Avenues! For my day of self-care, I knew I had to get the famed Dermaplaning treatment. If you ever need to feel extra selfie-ready, this is the facial treatment to try! If you haven’t heard of this rejuvenating skin treatment it’s a method of exfoliation that consists of using a 10 gauge scalpel to gently and safely scrape off the top layer of dulling dead skin cells in order to reveal a smoother, softer, and brighter complexion that’s paparazzi perfect. Sounds scary, right? It really isn’t, as long as you’re in the right hands. And the experts at CAS Med Spa had my skin glowing and ready for my next adventure. I’m already thinking about which big events I have coming up next so I have an excuse to get this fabulous treatment again. 😉
I’m a big believer in investing in your body, and that doesn’t stop at your face! In fact, one of the least popular body parts—the foot—is a great focus for your next self-care day. My feet certainly needed some TLC, so I treated myself to a foot detox at Heal Thyself Spa. While I was there, I also received a colonic treatment to achieve a total detox. Rejuvenation is an understatement after visiting Heal Thyself, because they focus on healing the mind, body, and spirit for total wellness.
5. Book a staycation.
Sometimes, you just can’t afford a vacation—whether in paid-time-off or dollar bills. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get away from the everyday ho-hum to relax and enjoy a new point-of-view. My best tip? Take a staycation in your own city! The hubby and I stayed at The Hotel at Avalon, Autograph Collection, for a staycation. Even though we never left Atlanta city limits, we felt like we were transported to the other side of the country in this resort-like hotel. Relaxation was the name of the game as we enjoyed a vacation in our very own city, and the worries melted away.
Wherever life’s adventures take you, be sure to take some time to teat yourself. My motto? Indulge a little, laugh a lot, and enjoy the ride. 😉
