Godiva #TruffleTakeoff Tour lands in Atlanta

Rain, rain, stay all day… Why so you may ask? Because it was raining truffles of course! The long awaited Godiva #TruffleTakeoff Tour landed in Atlantic Station and I could not have been more excited. And although Atlanta may have gotten a teeny bit wet during the event, and some chose to weather the storm indoors; this could only result in the obvious… More truffles for ME!!! Yay!!! I know that sounds bad, but we ARE talking about truffles, right?! Hey, every girl has her weakness and mine just happens to be covered in chocolate. 😉

Godiva pulled out all of the stops for this fabulous truffle tasting affair complete with social stations for picture taking, a red carpet runway, a VIP exclusive tasting experience, and plenty of candid fun. But what would a truffle tasting be without the star of the show…the Truffle Flights! Saying these beauties were deelish is putting it mildly…they were absolutely ahh-mazing!!! Both passers-by and curious onlookers found it hard to resist the temptation to want a closer look at these tasty treats.

I had the honor of hosting an exclusive VIP experience where guests were guided on a fabulous tasting journey featuring the Dark Decadence Truffle Flight collection. Our tasting guide Micah explained that each truffle in the collection has been placed in a specific tasting order that builds in flavor and intensity resulting in an adventure unlike any your taste buds have ever experienced.

Upon tasting the first flight I couldn’t help but feel like I had just been whisked away to a tropical desserted island somewhere in Central America. I’m thinking of a place just off of the Costa Rican coast; a getaway from a getaway… Hmmm… Tortuga Island is the perfect place! With its rich history, deep waters, and smooth white sand surrounded by luscious landscape, the Dark Chocolate Vanilla Mouse truffle immediately sent me to this beautiful secluded island escape. And after sampling several of the other truffles in the Flights collection, I was convinced that getaway destinations were the inspiration behind each of them. I imagined that with each bite of a Truffle Flight you’d fly away to some exotic destination where you’d experience them in the way it was intended.

Godiva Truffle Island

Welcome to Truffle Island

Imagine yourself lying on a secluded Kauai beach with a Lemon Chiffon Cake cocktail in hand, gazing out across the majestic sea as it ripples like the Red Velvet Cake, while the soft Hawaiian sand runs between your toes like sprinkles on the Birthday Cake. The aroma of Pineapple Hummingbird with its blooming hibiscus adornment and pineapple and banana ganache gives you the feeling of walking through a lush tropical forest then onto the sun-kissed coast to view a nut-covered Cheesecake volcano oozing of Chocolate Lava Cake (queue fainting spell). A Fantasy Island so beautiful that both Mr. Roarke and Tattoo would be jealous with envy.

Well, as the saying goes… all good things must come to an end are wrapped in chocolate, so unfortunately we must bid “A hui hou” to the Atlanta #TruffleTakeoff Tour. But fret not my chocolate-loving friends for a tasty adventure is simply one… bite… away. (Or is it two bites… maybe it’s three…) 😉

Huge hugs to all the fabulous divas who braved the rain and came out to this amazing event. It was sooo much fun, and I think we may have even crashed Instagram with all of our pics that day (ooopsies)! 😀 Many many thanks to Robin Lori Photography for the lovely photos, and special smooches to Godiva for bringing this wonderful truffle tasting experience to Atlanta. It was simply delicious!
