Launched in November 2006, T.R.I.P. began when childhood friends Corliss Hill and Tabeier S.Hamilton invited a group of their family and friends to travel with them to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina devastated the city. What began as a birthday weekend getaway turned into a week-long community service project with more than 30 people coming together to aid in post-recovery and clean-up activities. To date, T.R.I.P. has completed projects in distressed neighborhoods such as Miami’s Little Haitiand Miami Gardens. With the advent of tornado season in much of the nation, T.R.I.P. seeks to raise funds to ready their volunteer team of professionals to rally to the aid of communities needing rebuilding assistance.
