Show Recap: LUZIA Brings A Sublime Mexican Dreamworld to Life

Cirque du Soleil Luzia Atlantic Station Atlanta Georgia

As many of you know, I recently ran a giveaway where one lucky winner received four tickets to see the newest, magical Cirque du Soleil show, LUZIA. Well, although the winner’s tickets aren’t redeemable until the October 8th show, I was lucky enough to see LUZIA last week!

With Cirque du Soleil shows, you always expect some level of whimsy, wonder, and surprise. And even going into LUZIA knowing that couldn’t have prepared me for what I was about to watch. Guys, this show was AMAZING.

The show is described to be “a waking dream of Mexico,” and even that description doesn’t do it justice. As soon as the show opened, I felt like I was transported into another world full of interesting characters and scenes. Inspired by Mexico’s rich culture and history, this production kept me on my toes the whole time as my eyes watched the incredible acrobats swing from one daring position to another—all while in the rain! It almost seemed as if my eyes popped out of my head with each new stage setting and gorgeous visual presented. It truly did transport me and the rest of the audience into this lucid place between a dreamworld and reality—something that’s hard to forget.  Cirque du Soleil Luzia Atlantic Station Atlanta Georgia Cirque du Soleil Luzia Atlantic Station Atlanta Georgia Cirque du Soleil Luzia Atlantic Station Atlanta GeorgiaCirque du Soleil Luzia Atlantic Station Atlanta Georgia

I also gained such a curiosity for Mexico’s culture. The show did the country a beautiful, artistic justice, and all of it was so fascinating to me that it would have been crazy to look away!

I could go on and on about the spectacles LUZIA brought to life, but you truly can’t understand it until you experience it. Luckily, the show is in Atlanta until November 19 (they added two extra weeks to ATL’s calendar), so you still have time to set a date night and treat your eyes to this magical, wow-worthy performance. I wouldn’t even be opposed to seeing it again; that’s how much I enjoyed it!

Have you ever been to a Cirque du Soleil show? This one is a must-see!

Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA is now showing in Atlantic Station in Atlanta until November 19th so get your tickets now!
