Natural Girls Rock!

Natural Girls Rock

Natural Girls Rock! was the vibe as the “Curly Girls” of Atlanta converged at the Macaroni Grill in Dunwoody for a day full of discussion about becoming a natural hair diva, networking and supporting the natural beauty care movement, and shopping, shopping, shopping!

Checkout this video from the event:

Natural Girls Rock is a movement to promote women wearing their hair in its natural state with unwavering confidence. What makes Natural Girls Rock unique is that they have an absolute genuine interest in women feeling proud to rock their natural hair in its natural God-given state; and they encourage women to never feel ashamed, embarrassed, or less attractive than anyone else because of the texture of their hair. Natural Girls Rock emphasizes that it doesn’t matter how long, short, thick, thin, kinky, curly, or coiley you hair is, its’ what God gave you…..so, ROCK IT!

And as their slogan goes, the ladies in attendance were “rockin” all types of fab hair styles such as coils, twists, braids, dreads, and afros. With all of the naturally beautiful women there, the aura brought to mind one of my idols growing up, Tamara Dobson (bka Cleopatra Jones), who in the 1970’s revolutionized Afrocentric fashion and exemplified natural beauty. Right on Cleo!!! 😀

And, the “natural hair” revolution will be televised! as Kelly J. (Kurly Kelly), founder of Natural Girls Rock, stated that she is currently working on a Natural Hair Documentary to showcase the natural hair community.
