Metro Diner: A Meal That Tastes Just Like Home

Metro Diner

When friends and family come into town, there’s always some sort of pressure to entertain them. You want to show off your city, but with a limited time frame, there’s no way you can take them to all your favorite places. Especially in a city like Atlanta with so much to do!

Well, I’m gonna let you in on a little secret…

If you want to give your out-of-towners a truly unique experience, take them to Metro Diner. There’s just something so homey and welcoming about this place. Metro Diner is everything you’d want from an original diner, serving up from-scratch sauces and entrées and instilling true southern flair into every bite. Considered a locals-secret, Metro Diner is all about serving up a taste of home. And once you’ve had a taste you immediately sense their passion for perfection. With its combination of unique recipes and affordable entrées (most dishes priced under $15 ) patrons have the perfect excuse to sample the entire menu especially when you take into account the big portions! Metro Diner’s imaginative twist on old classics along with their award-winning presentation offer an eating experience unlike any other. Oh, and they also serve all-day breakfast for those slow-moving weekdays. 😉

Metro Diner is known for their “comfort food with a flair,” so, of course, when I visited their newly opened digs just north of Atlanta in Roswell, I had to try the Fried Chicken & Waffle. It’s a Belgian waffle and half a fried chicken topped with house-made strawberry butter (Y-U-M) and their signature sweet and spicy sauce. The combination of flavors and seasonings sang a sweet serenade to my taste buds. Deeelish! 😛 The eatery also serve an impressive array of other palate-pleasing entrées like Shrimp & Grits, Meatloaf, Chicken Pot Pie, and a few faves from Gram D’s secret family recipe’s.

If you needed another endorsement for this place, you might like to hear that Metro Diner was featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, so you know it’s a special spot. They have lots of locations around the region in Florida (the original is in Jacksonville), Indiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and of course their new digs in Roswell which is just a hop/skip north of Atlanta.

Hey if you’re ever in town and looking for a good ol’ taste of some downright deelish home cookin’, scoot on over to Metro Diner and sit for a spell.

Metro Diner is located at  880 Holcomb Bridge Road, Suite 100 in Roswell, GA.

I was compensated a tasty meal in exchange for my opinion, but all drooling is my own.

I am all about the comfort food. I could probably eat meatloaf every day for the rest of my life if I had to. I will be in that area next summer, so I am adding this to my list of places to stop!

It sounds delicious. The best food I’ve ever had has been in the south..the pecans, the berries, the chicken….it’s like you have God’s kitchen down there!

Looks like a great place to sit around the table, eat and shooting the breeze. I’m in a small town, and we have a diner. Their food is pretty decent there 🙂

looks like good home town cooking at its best. We unfortunately don’t have one of these around here where I live. If I ever get the chance will try it out.
