Who is Nikka Shae?

Nikka Shae

If I had to describe myself what comes to mind is that 80’s commercial for Enjoli perfume where the jingles goes “I can bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan…” Only, I’m no world renowned chef in some five star restaurant. I am simply a woman who has a passion for life. So in my case “bacon” would be “the story”, and “frying it up in a pan” would be like “giving you the lowdown on what’s happening around town”. I know; I know….it’s not as catchy as the Enjoli ad, but you get the picture (I hope). 😀

Growing up in Humble Texas (a real place by the way) I remember getting all glammed up just after raiding my mom’s makeup and my aunts’ shoe collection and then parading around the house. At some point we’ve all been caught with our hand in the makeup jar, and this was the makings of my story. I guess you could say I was a “Diva in training” since I loved putting trendy styles together and then flaunting my new finds in my very own mini fashion shows for anyone who would lend a willing ear to hear me sing, dance, and sashay down the runway. My family always said I had a larger than life personality. I guess I just wanted to be heard; which is ironic since I haven’t been able to keep quiet since. 😛

My mother and aunt inspired me with their sense of fashion and their love for family and respect for others; and my hope is to inspire others to Live Their Dreams…in Style!!!

MORE ABOUT OH! NIKKA

Nikka Shae of OhNikka.comA lifetime obsession with beauty products, fashionable clothing, spaces, places, and events led Texas native, Nikka Shae, to Atlanta and ultimately to discovery of her alter ego, Oh!Nikka. Wife, mother, and social trendsetter, Nikka Shae embarked on the journey towards the creation of her website, Ohnikka.com, in 2010, but introspectively she muses that the journey started much earlier. “I guess you could say I was a little socialite from birth,” reminisces Nikka. “As early three years old, I’d raid my mother’s makeup bag, my auntie’s shoe collection, get all glammed, parading around the house and singing as if I had an audience of adoring fans. At play-dates, we created little events: fashion shows, tea parties, and talent contests.”

What started in her bedroom in Humble TX inspired by her mother and aunt’s fashion sense was the beginning of Nikka’s penchant for couture fashion, uber-chic girlie goodies, and luxurious decadence. Although there was no red carpet in her living room, Nikka found a way to sashay around creating an imaginary runway that could barely contain her exuberant personality. Today she can be found strolling down the red carpet, mingling with a who’s who in fashion and entertainment, hosting and covering events for brands like Godiva Chocolates, Trina Turk, Kendra Scott, Cole Haan, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Gigi’s Cupcakes, Macy’s, L’Occitane, Macy’s, Atlanta Ballet, Warner Brothers, W Hotels, InterContinental Hotels Group, Family Dollar, Beautiful Textures, Lane Bryant, Atlanta Ballet, Fernbank Museum, Vixen Vodka, Microsoft Stores, Henri Bendel, Gucci, Disney Studios, Simon Malls, Lowes Hotel, Design Essentials, LiviRae Lingerie, the Atlanta Football Classic, and more.

Nikka ShaeNikka has been featured on Essence.com in their Spring Street Style Report, 11 Alive News style segment, as well as a commercial ad for Charming Charlie. Nikka has also hosted the Legendary 4th of July Celebration and the Girls’ Night Out shopping event for Simon Malls, as well as several exclusive events for various major brands. Nikka blogs for Simon Mall Properties as the Style Setter for Atlanta. And when she is not blogging or attending events around town, she moonlights as the Personal Shopper for Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza.

Nikka is also the Founder & Creator of Little Blue Box Brunch, an annual social event that was born from the desire to change the off-putting imagery of women and young girls, and a passion to bring them together in a celebration of sisterhood through encouragement and support for one-another.
