‘Tis the Season for Holiday Fun at Six Flags

Six Flags Over Georgia Holiday at the Park

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas… and it’s all thanks to Six Flags Over Georgia! If you’re looking for something to get you in the holiday spirit, you’ve got to get over to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags.

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the kickoff the Holiday in the Park, and let me tell you, it is the perfect thing to do to get that festive feeling flowing. The best part about this activity is that they have something for everyone. I have teenagers, and not even they were “too cool” for this. Talk about a Christmas miracle! 😛

Christmas Comes to Life

As you enter the park Christmas comes to life as you pass underneath a lighted canopy featuring more than 100,000 lights that guide you down the Main Street promenade. You’re then gleefully greeted by Stilt Soldiers who take the holiday to new heights while the Candlelight Carolers serenade you with Christmas cheer. And if that wasn’t merry enough for ya, there are even entertainers who stroll the park bringing Christmas delight at every turn. Even the Looney Tunes characters get in on the magic at the Bugs Bunny BoomtownTheater. Also be sure to stop by the North Pole to snap a few pics with Jolly Ole Saint Nick and give him your holiday wish list.

Thrills & Attractions

When I said there was something for everyone, I wasn’t kidding. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or have little’s on your hands, there is plenty of fun to go around. Holiday in the Park features 20 holiday rides, and magical holiday sights and sounds throughout along with all the thrills and excitement that Six Flags is known for such as 9 world-class roller coasters, and tons of themed areas. It’s basically a holiday wonderland–just take a ride on the North Pole Express, and you’ll see what I mean! There’s sooo much to do here for the holidays… Just see for yourself!

All the lights are probably my favorite part of Holiday in the Park. They just make everything feel so bright. 😛 And with over 1,000,000 Christmas lights filling the park, you immediately feel festive. Some of the glimmering areas included “A Main Street Christmas,” “Magic of the Season,” and one to soothe the nostalgia: “Retro Christmas USA.” So fun! Oh, don’t forget to take a ride on the historic Riverview Carousel. It’s adorned in over 100,000 lights and 250 luminary candles, creating the perfect backdrop for a magical night in the park.

Food, Firepits, & Fun

Of course, I wouldn’t send you anywhere that didn’t have yummy eats and tasty treats. Holiday in the Park takes care of all your tastebuds’ needs with firepits around the park where you can make s’mores. They also have more festive treats like Chocolate-Dipped Peppermint holiday pretzels and Christmas-inspired funnel cakes. I may or may not be drooling a bit just remembering all these delectable sweets! Oh, and did I mention they have a special Mac and Cheese Burger? Yeah. Exactly. 😀

Hustle Over to Holiday in the Park!

All of this sounds amazing doesn’t it? Well, hurry up and head to Six Flags Over Georgia to experience Holiday in the Park before it’s too late! Luckily the event runs after the holidays in case you don’t have time between now and then. The last day for Holiday in the Park is January 4. It runs on select days, so make sure to call or check out the website before visiting to make sure you get the full dose of the holiday hoopla.

So, what are you waiting for? Round up your little elves, load up the sleigh (or whatever mode of transportation) and make your way to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags.
